If you have never been up to what is probably Wyoming's most famous tourist attraction, I would say what are you waiting for? Especially if you are a Earth science kind of person. It has an amazing collection of thermal activity spots, as well as wildlife, and nature oriented activities. It is an amazing place to take you kids, and is very family oriented. Now you might say well why then wouldn't I suggest any kind of residencey in this area of the country? Well first off $4.00 a gallon gas, and pretty much any other kind of price gouging tourist trap type expense possible can be is all that can be found within about an hour drive of or more in any direction! I always thought that nature should be something enjoyed for free, or at least for a reasonable price. Now if you are just driving through the 25 Dollar entry fee isn't bad. It allows you access to the park, and to Grand Teton National park as well for up to seven days. Now please don't get me wrong I realize any type of family attraction will be spendy, however I must say I have never paid $20.00 bucks for some ice cream cones before. Nor have I had so many almost $200.00 dollar hotel rooms before! So I highly suggest a cooler full of food, drinks, and maybe a camper or just pitch a tent! I honestly just wasn't thinking it would be that bad, or I would have done this myself. Luckily for you all I can keep you from making this mistake as well. So with all that said, lets talk about the park.

I love it! there are so many places to stop, hike, and just enjoy the park that you really need a few days to get at it all. I went in from the east entrance past Cody, and then over to Old Faithful, and up the west side my first day in. West side has most of the thermal attractions, and with looking at bad weather possible my second day I wanted the best outside I could get. I will tell you right now if you hate walking, or hiking, do not even think about this place as a vacation spot! Some of the attractions are even a slight hike off of the main road, and most have cool wooden walk ways that take you all over them. If you are a fan of people watching Yellowstone is a melting pot of people from every corner of the world. Every one from visiters to even most employees of the park are foriegn. I think I heard every languege you can imagine, and maybe even a new one or two. This I also liked, as I am fascinated by different cultures, and ethnicities. Every one was super friendly, and it is like you are all one big family there. I never had a bad experience with any of the other tourists.

I do not wanna spoil much of the attractions, and encourage you to check into Yellowstone for yourself by clicking here. After our first day of exploration, we headed out the north entrance into Gardenier Montana. Back in the second day, and out to the bottom at the south entrance. Now the east side of Yellowstone does not have as many thermal sites, However it seemed that that is were we seen the most wildlife. There, and up around Mammoth Hot Springs. Bison, and elk were the most predominate species that were around there. It is really cool to be so close to these amazing creatures, and at times they come so close you could poke em! However don't, it is dangerous and even though they are cute and fuzzy, they are still wild! Now after our trip through on the second day we stayed at a resort cabin are which I will have to get into in my post tommorow. I have so much to say about this place which will remain a mystery for now that it deserves it's own post.
