High Wind Warning

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a high wind warning for the Casper area.

That portion of Interstate 25 was closed to light, high-profile vehicles Saturday afternoon due to the extreme blow over risk.

Expect Southwest winds of 30mph to 40mph and gusts up to 60mph possible, especially on Outer Drive in Casper.

Winds gusts of 60 m.p.h. or more will cause a blowover risk for lightweight and high profile vehicles.

Gusts of 65 to 70 m.p.h are possible on the south side of Casper including Outer Drive.

Travelers between Lander, Muddy Gap and Casper may encounter strong and erratic wind gusts and patchy areas of blowing snow.

Gusts of up to 60 m.p.h. and higher are forecast for Outer Drive.

Wind gusts of up to 65 miles per hour are expected Wednesday, as the National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the lower elevations of Natrona County and parts of Sweetwater County.
