This coming Thursday, April 26th is Take Your Child To Work Day.  I remember being a kid and going to work with my mom.  I hated her job and all "real" jobs in general.  That's why I work in radio today.  However, I did learn a few things from those LONG eight hours.

First, I learned that I didn't want to be an invoice clerk.  I suck at math and her job was all about math.  Horrible.

Second, I learned that if you act as though you are supposed to be there and as though you know what you're talking about, most everyone will just go right along with it.

For example: during my stay at my mother's job, I took a break, another break.  So while on break number 24,000, I was looking around Wal-Mart (that's where she works).  So I'm looking around and some lady asks me a question about "where something is in the store?"  She thought I worked there.  So, I just made something up. I had no clue.  Just made it up.

Not only am I a horrible person, but I've got a great imagination.

So what's the point?  Bring your child to work with you on Thursday!  Maybe they'll love your job?  Most likely they'll hate it.  But, they will learn.

And if all they learn is that to pay the bills, to be a good human being, to be a good American - You Need To Work!  And work hard.  Because ain't nothings free in this world.  And if that's all they learn, then it sounds like a good eight hours to me.
