This morning, I woke up a half hour before I needed to be on the road. I totally slept through my alarm clock and everything. Hell, the only reason I woke up is because the sun came through the windows.

For me, I've always had problems waking up. I can stay up for a very long time, but once I'm out, good luck getting me up. However, I'm an adult now and it's pretty annoying when this happens and it can effect my job.

However, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who is late to work at times. According to UPI:

[O]ne in six of Americans this week will be telling their boss why they were late for work.

That means that 16% of all US workers will be late at least once per week and 27% will be late once a month or more. Do I hear a pink slip?

More than a third (34%) of employers say they've fired an employee for being late.

Bummer! So how do you stop this?

"One of the best ways to make sure you get to work on time is to get organized and plan ahead. Lay out whatever you'll need for the workday the night before, plan to be at the office early, account for expected commute delays and eliminate distractions in your morning routine."

Hell if I know how to stop it! My plan is to be irreplaceable when I am working, then when I am late every now and then, they don't care. :-)

For the record, I blame today on Friday, the 13th! Today sucks!
