Throughout time inventions have spurred mankind to lofty heights. Electricity, the automobile, telephone and social media. Whether you prefer Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or some other network you're in the majority.

The ability for the world to be connected as never before, instantaneously. However, not everyone is captivated with the ability to be plugged in 24-7.

I saw an interesting story about Cameron Diaz, who has basically quit social media altogether. She hasn't tweeted since September 16, 2014.

"I think social media is a crazy-a** experiment on society," she tells Cosmopolitan U.K. "The way people use it to get validation from a bunch of strangers is dangerous. What's the point?"

Is there a point? Is being a celebrity more of a hassle on social network sights?
