Something To Do In Casper-Nic Fest
As us Casperites gear up for a short summer, we want to squeeze as much fun into as little time as possible. Whether it's spending every waking moment at Alcova, hitting the links, or just soaking up as much sun as possible...we want to be outside. This week's installment of "Something To Do In Casper" features a great, free weekend long event that really is fun for all ages (I know, an overused-and sometimes not entirely true-cliche, but it fits in this case). Check the end of this article for a couple more things you may find interesting and fun.
And now...
Nic Fest 2011
Every year, the good folks at the Nicolaysen Art Museum host a 3 day event that features artists of all kinds, a beer garden, food vendors, and killer live music. Now, granted, not all music may be for everybody, but I think...no, I guarantee you'll find at least one act that will expand your musical tastes in a positive way. One thing I've learned over the years is, if you're stuck in one genre, you're missing out. From opening night headliner Hamilton Loomis, to the final act, not one of these shows will be a disappointment. With all of that said, here's the scoop:
What:
NIC Fest is the Nicolaysen Art Museum’s three-day, annual community art festival that attracts more than 15,000 visitors interested in seeing the great art (paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, and more) being showcased and sold by dozens of artists from across the country. There's also continuous live music and entertainment, a family area with activities for "kids" of all ages, a community marketplace showcasing local organizations and business, and much more! Bands, in order...
