I've been in radio since 2001 and moved around a few times before landing where I am now. I'm married with three children. I'm an autism acceptance advocate. I love to cook, just don't like doing the dishes afterward. I have a knack for all things nostalgic from the '80s and '90s, love breakfast cereal a little too much and am a huge fan of video games, especially retro games from Atari to Nintendo and beyond.
I (or "Number Nine", as the scientists at Playing Creator Labs referred to me) was born as part of a government program aimed at creating super humans that would one day bring about the destruction of all living beings with more than 4 legs, take humanity to a new era called "The Equestrian Enoch", and cook the perfect omelet. While the program was ultimately a failure, I escaped the cruel dis-figuration of my fellow test subjects (including Charlie Sheen, Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl, etc
If this was Tinder, I’d just put up a picture and be done with it. But since this is a bio, here’s a little about me: I’m obsessed with rock music, pizza, my dog, my pj’s and a particular type of adult cinema. I love a good rock concert not just because of the kick ass music, the sense of community and the permanent damage to my hearing, but also because I get to wear clothes I would never wear in front of my dad. I’m a Cuban that moved to Miami when I was two and I definitely did not arrive via private jet…
I’ve always had mad passion for rock but had to pay my dues early in my career and got my start at an oldies radio station. After knocking out a couple of stations along my rock journey, I ended up at Banana 101.5 in Flint, Michigan in 2001. Now I have the ultimate gig as co-host of Loudwire Nights with Full Metal Jackie on radio stations around the country. Those that know me, know that I’m an extremely laid back person that loves to attend concerts and throw a few back
I grew up in Riverton and began my radio career at KTAK/KVOW. I became the station's youngest Sports Director in history and was recognized by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters for 'Best Sports Coverage' in 2009. I spent three years in Las Vegas working at CBS, Beasley Broadcasting, and covering mixed martial arts before coming back to Wyoming. I am an avid fan of all sports, all music, and traveling to new places.
Jon Michaels is a kid of the South. The dirty dirty will always be close to my heart, however I love the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. Sports fanatic, music lover…all types. You name it, I’ve probably done it and that’s all I’ll say about that. (The police can read too) Thanks for listening and I’m really taller than most people think.
