Mead Supporting Trump Despite Judge Comments
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Governor Matt Mead says he condemns Donald Trump's claim that a federal judge is biased against him because of the judge's Mexican heritage.
Wyoming is the nation's leading coal-producing state. Its revenues have fallen as federal restrictions on mining and power plant emissions have increased. Trump promises to restore coal industry jobs.
Mead told The Associated Press Thursday he disagrees with Trump's criticism of U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel.
Trump has said Curiel cannot preside fairly over a case involving Trump University because the judge is of Mexican heritage. Trump wants to build a wall on the Mexican border.
