There is no doubt that Joe Paterno was a great man.  Well, OK in my mind there isn't, but I do know that around the same time he died, he was fired because of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

In my mind Jerry Sandusky and those whom did nothing are to blame.  Yes, Jo Pa was told what happened and then he told his bosses.  Jo Pa's bosses did nothing!  Think about how you would have reacted in his shoes.

While you're thinking, here's what was said about Jo Pa during the services held at Penn State:

In a 2½-hour gathering that capped three days of mourning on campus, Nike chairman and CEO Phil Knight brought the near-capacity crowd at the basketball arena to its feet when he defended the coach's handling of child-sex allegations leveled against a former assistant. Paterno was fired two months ago by the Penn State trustees.
