So many new questions have come to light with the recent issues regarding transgender bathroom usage, but how should businesses proceed?

Some have already stated that it should be up to the individual businesses to decide how to handle the issue. There have been several different ideas that include:

  • Gender-Neutral Signage
  • Making All Restrooms Unisex
  • Building/Making Separate Transgender Specific Areas

Companies have many concerns though. Cost is factor, of course, but also (depending on the chain), how can they best not alienate their core customer base.

With this being an election year, it will be interesting to see how politicians move forward with future debates. Trump has already sounded off and the masses (thus far) seem to agree with him, at the same time opposing his rival, Ted Cruz' stance.
