Guns N' Roses mainman Axl Rose has filed a $20m lawsuit against the makers of Guitar Hero because Slash appeared in the 2007 version of the game.

Guitar Hero III included the GnR track Welcome to the Jungle, but Rose says he only gave permission for its appearance as long as Slash and his new band Velvet Revolver weren't featured.

The singer is furious that manufacturer Activision broke the deal, and especially because the guitarist appears on the game's cover. Rose's legal papers say: "Activision span a web of lies to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III, but also promote the game by emphasizing an association between Slash and Guns N' Roses, and the band's song Welcome to the Jungle."
