The National Hockey League's new kids are generating a lot of buzz in the national sports world, and apparently right here in Wyoming, too.

The Vegas Golden Knights are the first expansion team in any of the major four US sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) to compete in a championship game/series.

Not only is Vegas there to compete, they enter the series with the Washington Capitals as a slight favorite.

The series begins tonight, and last week we asked Wyoming residents who they thought would win the cup and in how many games. Here's how the results broke down...

  1. Vegas in 6 -
  2. Washington in 7 -  17.24%
  3. Vegas in 5 -  13.79%
  4. Vegas in 4 -  13.79%
  5. Vegas in 7 -  10.34%
  6. Washington in 6 -  10.34%
  7. Washington in 5 -  3.45%
  8. Washington in 4  -  3.45%

In total, that's just over 65% of voters pick Vegas to win it all.
