Woman Sues After Suffering Burns from Bikini Top
If you’re thinking of getting a nice tan this summer, consider the tale of Robin Corrente first.
The 50-year-old Yaphank, New York woman is suing a bathing suit manufacturer, claiming she suffered third-degree burns after the underwire in the top portion of her bikini became overheated.
Corrente decided to wear the suit three summers ago while sitting in her yard on a 90-degree day hoping to get some color. Corrente went to the hospital when she wound up in a ton of pain after sitting outside for an hour.
Corrente says doctors had to extract some of her flesh from her breast that measured “the size of a dime.”
Correnta has now filed a lawsuit against Swimwear Anywhere, which makes the Coco Reef suit. It’s unclear how much she’s seeking.
