Liv Tyler Confirms Meg’s Glowering Return to ‘The Leftovers’ Season 3
The third and tragically final season of HBO’s The Leftovers remains as much of a mystery as its upbeat theme song would suggest, perhaps rivaled by our initial questions of how Season 2 would unfold. The sophomore outing certainly made strong use of Liv Tyler’s returning Meg, and it seems the final episodes will very much follow suit.
Digital Spy confirmed with Tyler herself that the villainous Meg would return for Season 3, perhaps not unexpected after the events of the finale saw her contingent of Guilty Remnant overrunning the once-exclusive miracle town of Jarden, Texas. What Meg gets up to in the final season is anyone’s guess, as Tyler said of creator Damon Lindelof’s legendary silence:
We don’t find out - Damon is quite secretive, especially when he’s writing. He keeps everything to himself, and then usually he’ll write to us in a big e-mail and share with us ... We sort of know when we're going to start filming, but we don’t know exactly what's going to happen.
Great stuff! Filming on The Leftovers Season 3 will commence later this year (Tyler noted she’d be pregnant in real life during), though it remains unclear if the final run will consist of the same ten episodes as previous years, or a reduced order. At the very least we know that Season 3 will do away with the crazier side of Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux), following the second season’s revelatory closer.
We’ll update with further Leftovers Season 3 details as they arrive, but what should we expect from Meg this time out?
