The Invasion Of The Tumbleweeds [VIDEO]
When the wind switches direction in Wyoming, you can count on the tumbleweeds to go tumbling. The function of a tumbleweed catching the wind and moving from one location to another is simply to spread their seeds far and wide and keep the species going. In Wyoming a prevailing Southwest wind will keep many pushed up against a fence and left to rot. However, occasionally as seen here, the wind will switch direction and the tumbleweeds have a new track to take.
This was taken sitting on a hay meadow west of town and gave a surreal and eerie feel to the day.
