November 2016 New Music Releases
The list of November 2016 New Music Releases is highlighted by Metallica's long-awaited new studio recording, but Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
For instance, Bon Jovi begin a new phase with This House Is Not for Sale – the group's first set of all-new songs since 2013's What About Now, and their initial project since the sudden departure of co-founder Richie Sambora. Rik Emmett is joined on the upcoming RES9 by his former Triumph bandmates for the first time since 1987, and Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder Gary Rossington bounces back from a health scare with a new solo album.
The Band begin releasing a series of 40th anniversary editions of The Last Waltz, around the same time The 1966 Live Recordings takes a very deep dive into a controversial tour with their former boss Bob Dylan. Motley Crue commemorate the conclusion of their lengthy Final Tour with a concert film, while ex-Crue member Nikki Sixx's new band Sixx:A.M. releases a companion piece to Prayers for the Damned Vol. 1, which arrived back in April.
Ritchie Blackmore will release a live set culled from shows played with a restructured Rainbow earlier this year, while Blackmore's former Deep Purple bandmate Glenn Hughes is set to unleash "possibly the heaviest record I've ever made."
More information on these and other classic-rock releases can be found below. And remember to look at our updated list of 2016 New Music Releases for details on music issued throughout the year.
