A sex offender who escaped from a Cheyenne halfway house last month has been captured near Laramie.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Justin Stephenson says 32-year-old Zachary Firestone was arrested without incident Monday night by the Albany County Sheriff's Office, after information was developed in Cheyenne that Firestone was at the Summit Rest Area on Interstate 80.

Authorities had been looking for Firestone since October 22, when he failed to return to the halfway house.

Firestone has a current parole warrant for 3rd degree sexual assault of a minor.  He's also charged with being an unregistered sex offender and escape.
