Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie was recently profiled in the Midland Mirror, his hometown newspaper, but amidst all the factoids on the rocker came some big news for Dream Theater fans. The group will be returning to the studio in February to start work on their next album.

The disc will be the follow up to the band's self-titled 2013 effort and is tentatively expected to arrive via Roadrunner Records this fall. No other details concerning the album were revealed.

Dream Theater spent a majority of 2014 on the road on the 'Along for the Ride' tour. But it appears as though the promotion of the self-titled album has wound down. LaBrie was actually being profiled because he was returning home to play a solo date at the Midland Ontario Cultural Centre in Canada. The 'A Day in the Life' performance will take place Jan. 14.

While the 'Dream Theater' self-titled disc did arrive in 2013, the band kept fans busy last year with the release of their 'The Studio Albums 1992-2011' box set and the concert album and film, 'Breaking the Fourth Wall,' which was based on their special show at The Boston Opera House last March.

Stay tuned as Dream Theater reveal more about their upcoming disc.
