On Monday night a terrorist bomb was detonated in Manchester, England following a performance by artist Ariana Grande.  The bombing left 22 young people dead and 50 or more others injured.

Even with all the security precautions and screenings that happen at concert and sporting events as fans enter the arena, their feelings of security were dashed.  The suicide bombing happened just outside the venue when a large number of people were leaving and headed to the rail station next door.

Every time I hear tragic events happen like this, it makes me sad and angry at the same time.  These were young people heading out to enjoy a concert and hear some great music.

But it also brought to mind that here in the US we have a large number of sporting events and concerts that attract thousands of people. Including right here in Wyoming!

Thousands of people will be coming to the Cowboy State this summer for events like the Eclipse Festival in August and major sporting events and concerts like during Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Could something like what happened in England happen in the USA?  Unfortunately, Yes it could, although it is very unlikely to happen on US soil.

But even with our faith in law enforcement and national security officials there is always a risk of 'something' happening when a large crowd gathers.

So we thought we'd ask you - Do you fell safe while attending events where large crowds gather, like concerts or sporting events?  Let us know your thoughts and we'll publish the results next week.
