Coldplay have evolved their live shows over the years to make them more memorable for concert goers. The Britpoppers seem to have outdone themselves during their current tour, giving attendees flashing wristbands to make them part of the production.

Called Xylobands, the arm accessories have been given to fans making it out to recent Coldplay shows. The wristband contains multiple LED lights which can be activated by the show crew using a radio signal. These are the same products used during Coldplay’s ‘Charlie Brown’ music video. Jason Regler, co-owner of RB Concepts, admitted that he came up with the concept while at a Coldplay concert after hearing the line “lights will guide you home” from the song ‘Fix You.’ Watch the magical wristbands in action during a live version of ‘Charlie Brown’ in the below.

However, the aesthetic benefits of the Xylobands don’t come cheap. Coldplay are reportedly spending over $770,000 a night on the wristbands and are thinking about dropping the idea all together.

“Most of the money we’re earning on the tour is put into the wristbands,” frontman Chris Martin told Bauer Radio. “We have to figure out how to keep it going without going broke because it’s a crucial part of the concert.”
