For James Corden’s latest installment of his “Carpool Karaoke” sketch, the Late Late Show host is joined by Chris Martin as the Coldplay frontman is hitchhiking his way to his band's Super Bowl halftime show in San Francisco.

To pass the time, Corden and Martin quickly busy themselves with sing-alongs of some well-placed Coldplay tunes (“Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Yellow” and “Viva La Vida” all make appearances). Martin also pulls out a keyboard for a brief cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes.” (Apparently, there are no lingering hard feelings after Bowie agreed to this duet but refused a collaboration with Coldplay.) Between the travelers' inspired performances, Martin delivers Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger impersonations and reveals he’s pretty fuzzy on the rules of American football. Watch the whole thing at the top of the page.

The sketch serves as a pretty convenient advert for Coldplay’s catalog and upcoming Super Bowl performance. That will take place on Feb. 7 and feature cameos from Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.

Coldplay recently announced a tour behind their newly minted full-length A Head Full of Dreams, which will take the English rockers to the U.S. in July. They’re scheduled to play stadiums in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, L.A. and Dallas before returning to Levi’s Stadium in September. See a complete itinerary right here.
