Casper Events Center Will Soon Use Metal-Detecting Wands
Staff at the Casper Events Center will soon be using metal-detecting wands on visitors -- just one step in a long-range plan to make events safer and more enjoyable.
Folks can expect to see wands in use as the public enters for events beginning Dec. 12 for the performance of Broadway Christmas Wonderland, set for 7:30 p.m.
Snoop Dogg is set to perform two days later, on Dec. 14.
"We look forward to providing a superior guest experience in a safer environment for our community through these efforts," said Anna Rosburg, assistant general manager and director of marketing at Casper Events Center.
A news release from Rosburg says the facility management team will work closely with local law enforcement over the coming months to find more ways to bolster safety and security in the events center.
The facility in February 2016 implemented its "Txt Alert" program, which allows the public to notify management immediately of anything that might require staff attention. It's common practice in large venues and sporting arenas, and helps staff promptly address things like suspicious activity or guest service concerns.
