Beck offers up a rare glimpse into his moodier side in a new short film that features his performance at artist Doug Aitken's Station to Station project in London last year.

The Twin Peaks-esque show was billed as "an evening of music, poetry and visual arts," taking place in front of a sweeping countryside backdrop made complete by Beck in a cowboy hat with Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore on guitar.

In the film, directed by Florian Habicht for Channel 4's Random Acts Series, Beck talks about the show in a voiceover and performs "Wave" from his Grammy-winning 2014 album, Morning Phase.

Beck is touring quite a bit this summer with a headlining spot at next month's Mountain Jam in Upstate New York also featuring Wilco, Jason Isbell, Courtney Barnett and more. He's also playing the Governors Ball in New York City alongside Kanye West, the Killers and Death Cab For Cutie. Let's hope he remembers to bring his cowboy hat to fend off the blazing sun. There's not much shade at Governors Ball – unless, of course, Kanye throws enough around for everyone.
