A Bar Nunn man will face trial in Natrona County District Court on multiple felony counts of drug possession and delivery after waiving his preliminary hearing Thursday.

During the hearing, Charles ‘Carlos’ Miller Shaw's public defender asked Natrona County Circuit Court Judge Steven Brown to lower the $50,000 bond.

Rob Oldham acknowledged Shaw faced a lot of drug-related charges, but told Brown that he was a lifelong area resident, had a minimal criminal history, and had supportive family members who were in the courtroom.

Assistant District Attorney Trevor Schenk responded Shaw had a prior felony conviction for intent to deliver drugs.

Brown said he would keep the bond at $50,000 because of the seriousness of the charges.

Shaw is charged with two counts of methamphetamine possession, one count of possession of oxycodone, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, one count of delivery of methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

He also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of morphine and possession of cocaine.

If found guilty on all counts, Shaw could be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 96 years and have to pay up to $137,000 in fines.

Court documents say agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation were investigating a Casper-area drug trafficking group and discovered Shaw was allegedly involved. He bought drugs elsewhere in Wyoming and Colorado and would distribute them in Casper.
