Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose took part in a rare press conference yesterday (June 7) in London. While speaking at the China Exchange, Axl spoke about his relationship with AC/DC’s Angus Young and revealed that the current Guns N’ Roses lineup is working on new material.

2016 has been a career-redefining year for Axl Rose. Not only did he reconvene with GN’R legends Slash and Duff McKagan, but after AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson ran into serious hearing issues, Rose began touring as AC/DC’s new singer. Axl Rose was a Prudential Series guest at London’s China Exchange, giving fans an opportunity to interact with the singer.

During the Q&A session, Axl revealed GN’R have new material brewing and that AC/DC may even record with Axl down the road. "We [Guns N’ Roses] are working on new stuff. I've got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it. And Angus and I are talking about working together."

On rekindling his relationship with Slash, Axl shared, "Slash and I hadn't talked in 19 years, and it was a good talk. And I was, like, 'You wrote a lot of stuff [in your book] that didn't even happen. It's not real.'"

As for his relationship with Angus Young, Axl described a unique kinship. “I feel protective, I do not want to let this guy down, more than almost anybody I've ever met,” Axl says. “And I don't know why. And he's very responsive to me. And they said they hadn't seen him this happy, they hadn't seen him moving around [so much]. So that's kind of a neat thing between musicians."

Axl spoke about further subjects like possibly writing his own autobiography, working with a vocal coach, the impact of YouTube on the music industry and more. Check it out in the video above.
