Austin City Limits 2013 Expands to Two Weekends
Beginning in 2013, the Austin City Limits Festival will take place over two weekends. A vote by the Austin City Council will allow C3 Presents, who also organize Lollapalooza, to expand the festival, which has been held in Austin’s Zilker Park since 2002.
Man Found Dead at Global Gathering Festival
A 24-year old man was found dead at the Global Gathering festival in Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday (July 28). The man was discovered in his tent in an unconscious state, and attempts to revive him by paramedics were, unfortunately, unsuccessful.

We’re still a week and a half away from Lollapalooza. However, the fact that this year’s version of the festival hasn’t taken place yet isn’t stopping its organizers from announcing the dates of 2013′s festival.
Sonic Youth Archival Releases in the Works
The breakup of Sonic Youth‘s Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon last year has put the band’s future in doubt. Back in April, guitarist Lee Ranaldo told Diffuser.fm that there were “archival projects in the works right now.” Earlier today (July 19), Ranaldo told Sam Huxley of BBC5 a little bit more about the upcoming projects.
S.S. Coachella Cruise Announced
Goldenvoice, the promoters of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, are launching a music-themed cruise: the S.S. Coachella.
Coachella Staying Put at Current Location
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will not be changing locations after all. Last week, Goldenvoice, the festival’s organizers, said they would leave the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. following the 2013 festival if a new tax initiative was passed. However, the city councilman who proposed the tax has withdrawn the proposition in response to Goldenvoice’s threats.
The Killers, ‘Runaways’ – Song Review
The wait for the new music from the Killers is over. The Las Vegas band, whose last album was 2008′s ‘Day and Age,’ won’t put out their fourth record, ‘Battle Born’ until the fall, but the first single, ‘Runaways’ has been released today (July 10).

Jack White’s ‘Blunderbuss’ Debuts at No. 1
Billboard is reporting that, as expected, Jack White‘s first solo album, ‘Blunderbuss,’ hits No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In its first week of release, Blunderbuss’ sold 138,000 copies, towering over Adele‘s ’21′ which, at 84,000 copies, sits at No. 2 this week. The critically acclaimed ‘Blunderbuss’ knocked Lionel Richie‘s ‘Tuskegee’ out of the top slot.
