The White Stripes Split Up

Topic A in rock news is that The White Stripes broke up. I mean, Jack and Meg were ex-husband and wife so they were 'broke up' to begin with, but now separated as a band as well.

"The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health," a statement announced. "It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way."

You know they'll go off and do more individually. Jack White has already gone off and has done his own thing. I'm sure Meg will land in a new band eventually. Sad day for White Stripe fans, including myself.
