3D films are all the rage these days, but who’s to say that special effects can only be used in movies? San Francisco-based group Primus recently unveiled plans for their upcoming 3D tour in late 2012 — the first tour of this kind since Kiss‘ Psycho Circus Tour back in 1998.

Primus have announced a headlining tour for this summer, which will kick off on May 19th at the Murat Theater in Indianapolis, IN and wrapping up at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.

As previously reported, Primus have been hard at work on their first studio album in more than a decade. In a post on the band’s website, Les Claypool and pals has said the record is nearly complete.
