Shinedown singer Brent Smith won’t appear on Apocalyptica’s upcoming track Not Strong Enough – because the band didn’t do the paperwork.

Apocalpytica drummer Mikko Siren says: “We met Brent two years ago and we saw Shinedown live. We were really impressed with his voice. So when we had the song we remembered him, we asked him in and we were lucky enough that he agreed.”

Smith’s performance appears on the album 7th Symphony as planned, but the single will feature Doug Robb of Hoobastank.

Meanwhile, Shinedown’s new video celebrates the fact that Diamond Eyes – which appears in the Sylvestere Stallone movie The Expendables – reached number 81 on Amazon’s all-genre download chart for last year.

It was only outsold in rock and metal by Avenged Sevenfold’s Nightmare (full list no.33), Stone Sour’s Say You’ll Haunt Me (no.48), Disturbed’s Another Way to Die (66) and Rush’s Caravan (67).
