Name & Number -RuinHer Rosi #747

Height-5’10”

Date Joined-February 2010

Position-Blocker mostly, secret weapon!

Favorite target zone-I really like getting in front and stopping, its fun to leave the pile of RUINS on the track.

Likes- Long walks on the beach, Candle lit dinners, actually lets get real, I like to go shooting, and eat things cooked over a campfire, and I really like weekends that involve no electronics.

Dislikes-Liars, it’s a one way ticket out the door for me. Injuries-I haven’t had any serious ones (knock on wood) just my fair share of bumps, bruises, and road rash, I have bounced my head off the floor, good thing we wear helmets.

Why Roller Derby?-I did Marching Band, Theatre, ran Cross Country, and spent 8 years in the Marine Corps, including 1 tour in Iraq. My career is in Engineering, and I am the only woman in my office, and I have never really had girlfriends, now I have at least 30 that I can call for anything. My anger management counselor told me I needed something physical to release my pent up energy, can you think of anything better for that? How many times in the day do you just want to slap someone? Well I just put that feeling in my pocket and bring it out at practice. Feels great. Oh I don’t have to go to anger management anymore!

TSUNAMI BOMBER, A'Salt Creek Roller Girls
loading...

Name: Tsunami Bomber- “Everyone’s Favorite Natural Disaster!”

Number: B-52!

Height: 5’4

Started Derby: 01\10

Position: Power Blocker/Pivot

Target Zone: I don’t have a specific target zone, but I do have a goal each Jam and that’s to see some skates in the air.

Likes: Skates, Blood and Rock ‘n’ Roll

Dislikes: Going to the Penalty Box, Fox News, onions and lawn flamingoes

Injuries: Fractured tail bone in 2 places, torn Left PCL, Torn Left Meniscus, sprained left ankle

Why Derby: Why not?! It is one of the most non-discriminative sports for women. As long as you don’t have a pre-existing heart or bone condition and you’re a little fearless, pretty much anyone can play. It’s a great work out and an extremely healthy way to vent daily frustrations. The amazing sense of camaraderie that is present throughout the sport as a whole is reason enough to play. Lastly, but not least, playing derby has unspeakably awesome effects on the self esteem; it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Words of Wisdom: “A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
