Live long and prosper Treckies. There is a new Star Trek web series is in the works. Stardate -305995 CBS All Access will stream a new original Star Trek series. That is January 2017 by the way. It will be new characters going to new worlds. It won’t be free. CBS All Access costs $5.99 per month, and you need reliable internet to do so. Although CBS will broadcast the first episode on traditional television.

On CBS All Access page they said:

The brand-new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.

Alex Kurtzman

is developing the series now. Kurtman is a heavy hitter with franchises like Sleepy Hallow, Limitless, Scorpion, Lost, Alias, Hawaii 5-0, Xena Warrior Princes – GASP -and that’s just the TV shows. For movies he has worked on Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness. He will also be executive producer of the next two Star Trek movies. Although the new movie Star Trek Beyond will not be directly related to the web series. Plus he worked on other geek fanfare movies like Spiderman 2 and Transformers. This guy is not a one hit wonder. If you liked the new movies, this new series may be a treat.
