Mumford and Sons Join 2012 iTunes Festival Lineup

Mumford and Sons have signed on to join the lineup of the 2012 edition of the iTunes Festival, which is set to take place across the month of September at the legendary Roundhouse in London. They joined previously announced acts Jack White and Norah Jones on the bill, which now also includes Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds, Deadmau5 and others.

One show each night will take place during the month-long event, tickets for which will be free to U.K. residents age 14 and older. Tickets for each gig will be given away through the iTunes Festival official website. Last year’s festival bill included such artists as Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Frightened Rabbit.

Mumford and Sons recently announced a Sept. 25 release date for their new album, ‘Babel,’ which Ted Dwane recently predicted will fall in line with the band’s past work. “The ingredients are very much the same: the four core instruments and a lack of a drummer, which can give it that strange, simple, unique sort of sound,” the bassist said.

In addition to their Sept. 24 appearance at the iTunes Fest, Mumford kicked off a U.S. this week Hoboken, N.J. that will keep them on the road through a Sept. 1 appearance at the Aspen Jazz Festival in Aspen, Colo. Check out their complete stateside itinerary here.
