Jack White Performs With Loretta Lynn + Reunites With the Raconteurs in Nashville
“God bless you, Nashville. It’s good to be home.”
That’s what Jack White said as he closed his show at the Bridgestone Arena last night, Jan. 28. The former White Stripes frontman proved his affection for the Music City with an incredible set that featured performances with the great Loretta Lynn and a reunion with his band, the Raconteurs.
Lynn and local singer-guitarist William Tyler were White’s opening acts before White took the stage, performing a catalog-spanning set that included the Stripes’ ‘Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground’ and cuts from his most recent solo album, ‘Lazaretto.’
Then, White left the stage only to be rejoined by the Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson and Jack Lawrence to perform ‘Salute Your Solution’ from the band’s 2008 sophomore album, ‘Consolers of the Lonely,’ and ‘Steady as She Goes’ from their 2006 debut, ‘Broken Boy Soldiers.’
White and the Raconteurs remained on the stage, then joined by the rest of the Third Man Records founder’s band and Lynn for a performance of ‘Portland, Oregon.’ Watch their mesermizing performance of the song – from Lynn’s 2004, White-produced album, ‘Van Lear Rose’ – above.
