I've been out of college for six years now.  It was the most fun of my entire life, however my GPA sucked!  But, I did learn a thing or two.

For example:

  • I learned that kissing girls isn't for me and neither is metro-sexual men.
  • I also learned how to interact with lots of different kinds of people.
  • I learned various business theories.

However, the most important thing I learned was how to kick ass in the radio industry.  That's good, considering that's what I wanted to do when I grew up anyways.  And knowing what you want to do is half the battle.  But what if you don't know what you want to do when you grow up?

According to USA Today, they reported that if you want to survive this crap-tastic economy then you should get a Liberal Arts Degree:

It found that students who had mastered the ability to think critically, reason analytically and write effectively by their senior year were:

  • Three times less likely to be unemployed than those who hadn't (3.1% vs. 9.6%).
  • Half as likely to be living with their parents (18% vs. 35%).
  • Far less likely to have amassed credit card debt (37% vs. 51%).

As a person who has finally paid off all of her credit cards: two years, $15,000 later, NOT having to survive off of your credit cards after college is a GREAT THING!  So what does this all mean?  I think it means nothing.

I think that if you work hard, you can do anything.  Be smart, don't borrow up to your eye balls in money.  Who cares about the Jones.  If they don't like what I'm doing, well then obviously there's something wrong with them anyways and I should probably consider getting a restraining order anyways. :-)

The point is, I don't think I really needed to go to college to get to where I am today, but I'm glad I did.  Minoring in sex, drugs, and rock radio was the best five years of my life.  Life is short: work hard, play harder.
