Hump Day Humor – Eddie Murphy [NSFW, VIDEO]
I’m under the impression that laughter truly is the best medicine. It’s funny how easy it is to get in a good mood just by smiling. Once a week in our office, someone plays a full comedy routine, and we all sit back and giggle. I want to share our good times with you, so every Wednesday, I’ll be giving you a different stand-up routine. Sit back, act like you’re working, and enjoy today’s laugh-inducing video!
Delirious is a stand-up comedy television special starring Eddie Murphy. The 70-minute show, released in 1983, showcases his most racy material. It was recorded on August 17, 1983 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. It was a big success and was followed by the concert film Eddie Murphy Raw.
Unlike his acts on Saturday Night Live, this performance was very profane, with the word "fuck" used a total of 230 times, and "shit" is used 171 times.
The routine was infamous for its stereotypical depiction of a homosexual Mr. T, followed by a depiction of Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton as a gay couple. Though his portrayal brought on raucous applause from the audience in the performance, these comments were retracted by Eddie Murphy in an interview several years later.
