Next Tuesday (6-18) will be an extra awesome "New Music Tuesday" with the release of High on Fire's double live album Spitting Fire. The band is a crushing, fuzzy and scuzzy metal trio from Oakland California. Matt Pike's guitar blends the monolithic nature of  stoner rock and the thrash of old school metal beautifully, and the absolutely massive drum sound from Des Kensel has always been the perfect compliment. One of the most punishing bands I have ever seen play live.

Not only do I love the band, but I love the whole idea of the lost art of the "Live Album". Don't get me wrong, I like a live DVD just fine, but I have always thought there was something mysteriously alluring about hearing the show, but relying on your mind's eye for a visual.

The video below is for a barn-burner track called Rumors of War off the album Death Is This Communion- I love it, it gets me stoked big time for next Tuesday. Enjoy, at full volume (if possible).
