What do you do when one full weekend of Texas-styled BBQ, Lonestar beer and loud rock ‘n’ roll is not enough? Well, you consider adding another weekend! That’s exactly what may happen to the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2013, according to the local Austin, Texas newspaper The Statesman, if C3 Presents – the producers of the annual gathering – get their way.

C3 Presents reportedly is negotiating with Austin city officials to expand Austin City Limits to two weekends in 2013, with hopes for the tentative first weekend of Oct. 4-6 to be joined by a second weekend of ACL from Oct. 11-13. To help convince the city, C3 Presents is offering a significant increase in funds donated to the local parks department and the nonprofit Austin Parks Foundation. The additional money would fund improvements to both the city’s Auditorium Shores space and the Great Lawn at Zilker Park and the city’s Auditorium Shores, although only the Great Lawn hosts ACL events.

In the meantime, Austin City Limits 2012 is set to go down Oct. 12-14, with the Black KeysRed Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White and Florence + the Machine among the 130-plus artists lined up to take part this year. All general admission tickets have sold out for the three-day event.
