According to a tweet sent out by At The Drive In's official Twitter page, it's all but confirmed that At The Drive In will be making a return in 2012!

According to a Rolling Stone article, the band has been hinting at a reunion for several years now. A quote from the front man Cedric Bixler-Zavala to Drowned in Sound in 2009 supports this theory.

"We've been making amends with a lot of the members and having some really good talks with them,"

"We just have to iron out a lot of personal things. A lot of it we've dealt with already and I've apologized for a lot of things I've said and the way it ended. We'll see what happens."

The band broke up in 2001 after their front man left the band, claiming that At The Drive In was "holding him back". (Editors Note: !@#$ing rock stars....)

I (Josh The Intern) have always been a huge fan of At The Drive In, and I truly regret never getting to see them perform live. They were well know for their high energy performance. I saw Cedric's next band, Mars Volta, and while good it was only a sad reminder of everything I had missed not seeing At The Drive In when they were together. I won't be making that mistake again!

A big thanks goes out to our good Canadian friend Richard Roth for tipping us off.

Here is a couple videos of the band to get you reminiscing or introduce you if you weren't lucky enough to know this band back in the day.
