A 69-Year-Old French Woman Accidentally Locked Herself In Her Bathroom

Talk about a crappy situation!

PARIS, FRANCE (WPIX) —

A 69-year-old french woman accidentally locked herself in her bathroom -- and remained trapped for three weeks.

French firefighters finally rescued her and she was reportedly very depleted, but still alive. She survived on warm tap water from the sink and, when she had the energy, banged on the water pipes in an effort to alert her neighbors.

Her neighbors did not realize the noise was a call for help, and instead filed a petition to have it stopped. The neighbors reportedly thought someone in the building was doing home repairs at odd hours of the night.

Eventually the neighbors realized they hadn't seen her for a long time and became worried, finally breaking into her home.

The woman told them she became stuck because the bathroom door lock broke.
