Here in Wyoming, we're lucky to live within driving distance of some legendary Colorado concert venues. As awesome as Red Rocks and the Mishiwaka Ampitheatre are, we have our fair share of decent venues too.

Here's our completely subjective and totally unofficial list of the five best places to see a concert in the Cowboy State.

1. Beartrap Meadow on Casper Mountain - Home to the annual Beartrap Summer Festival, this picturesque setting has hosted the popular bluegrass event since 1994. Several big names have graced the stage over the years, including Charlie Daniels, Los Lobos, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Earle, Marshall Tucker Band, Ricky Skaggs and a host of others.

2. The Gryphon Theatre in Laramie - Originally built in 1926, this venue was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. These days, it hosts a variety of national and regional touring acts. Mumford and Sons, Everclear's Art Alexakis, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Leon Russell and country singer Colt Ford are among the many artists who have played the Gryphon in the past few years.

3. Cheyenne Frontier Days - Sure, it smells like cow crap, but if you want to see the biggest names in country music and classic rock, CFD is one of the few Wyoming venues that's big enough to lure the A-listers. Practically every country music star worth their salt has played here, along with many legendary rockers.

4. Casper Events Center - Since 1982, the Events Center has been the premiere arena-sized venue in the state. In addition to the College National Finals Rodeo and too many monster truck rallies to count, it has hosted a long line of nationally renowned artists, including The Eagles, Carrie Underwood, Def Leppard, Pearl Jam, B.B. King and many more.

5. The Pink Garter Theater in Jackson - Originally built in 1959 to host western-themed plays, the old theater was transformed into a music venue in 2010. Since then, it has showcased an eclectic range of acts including Public Enemy, Reverend Horton Heat, Leftover Salmon and Jack White.
