Kelly Walsh High School held another successful speech and debate tournament this weekend, and the first to be held in the brand new building.
But, there was an added attraction this year.
20 schools from all over the state of Wyoming were there competing in the usual events, debate, extemporaneous speaking, humorous interpretation, and more.
The host school does not compete in their own tournament, by the way.
But Saturday evening, the students had a special visitor. Senator John Barrasso spoke just before the awards ceremony began.
Calling them the "best and the brightest Wyoming has to offer," he encouraged the gathered students to work hard, finish college, and make full use of that exclusive feature in Wyoming education, the Hathaway Scholarship.
