Want to get away, but can't feasibly do it? The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra will take you on a trip through France, without ever leaving our windy city!

Saturday, March 21st, the WSO will feature an evening of music by French composers. This is an opportunity to see Casper's cultural side as guest performer Jolyon Pegis adds his cello to Casper's finest. For more information, read the complete press release below.

Join the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra for a quick getaway to the City of Love at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21st at the John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School as we present, “Vive La France.”  This evening of music by all French composers will highlight works from Ravel, Lalo, and Franck.
The evening begins with Ravel’s gentle homage to the 17th and 18th century – the golden era of French music – which will set to the tone for an evening of sumptuous sounds. Next, we’ll welcome the Associate Principal Cellist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Jolyon Pegis, performing the fireworks and flair of Edouard Lalo’s Cello Concerto in D Minor. The evening will conclude with Cesar Franck’s Symphony in D, widely considered to be his most popular work, and his greatest achievement.
Jolyon Pegis has been a member of the Dallas Symphony since 2000. He is also the Assistant Principal Cello of the Chautauqua Symphony. Previously, he was the Principal Cellist of the San Antonio Symphony. He is from Rochester, NY and studied cello at Indiana University and the Hartt School of Music.

Tickets are on sale at the Wyoming Symphony office at 225 S. David, Ste. B.. Or at Cadillac Cowgirl, Wind City Books, and Sadler’s Hallmark.   For more information call 266-1478 or visit the website at www.wyomingsymphony.org
