Wyoming Skiers Win X Games ‘Real Mountain’ Gold Medal
In case there was any doubt, the debate is now settled. The best slopes in the country are right here in Wyoming. Thanks to a group of local skiers and snowboarders, Jackson Hole just won the first-ever X Games 'Real Mountain' Gold Medal.
Seven resorts competed in the online contest to determine which mountain has the best terrain. Each resort submitted a video featuring local pros shredding in areas accessible by lifts. Jackson Hole was represented by ten of the best skiers and boarders in the area, who each ripped a different run on the mountain.
Jackson Hole was the winner by a considerable margin, with 29% of all votes casts. Utah's Snowbird Resort finished a distant second, followed by Mammoth Mountain and Squaw Valley in Calfornia. The Whistler Blackcomb Resort in British Columbia, Canada, rounded out the top five.
