Wyoming Highway Patrol Conducts 2,653 Traffic Stops On Memorial Day Weekend
The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported no fatalities occurred over the recent Memorial Day weekend, according to a news release.
Troopers were busy nonetheless.
From Saturday through Monday, troopers conducted 2,653 traffic stops
They investigated 83 crashes, with none of them fatal. However, another agency investigated a fatal crash.
Troopers focused on identifying impaired drivers and other violations affecting highway safety such as nonuse of child and occupant restraints, speeding and other moving violations.
But they also assisted 216 motorists who needed help.
Troopers issued 102 citations for lack of seat belt usage and 12 citations for no child restraints as required.
They arrested 26 impaired drivers.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol's dispatch center also was busy as it handled 4,157 calls including 46 REDDI (report every drunk driver immediately ) reports and 119 traffic complaints.
