Winter Storm Warning: 6-12 Inches of Snow for Casper Mountain

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for parts of Wyoming ahead of a strong storm system, expecting up to a foot of snow to pile up on Casper Mountain through Thursday morning.

Snow is expected to develop quickly between 9 a.m. and noon Wednesday, with the heaviest snowfall predicted to occur through 9 p.m.

In all, six to 12 inches of snow could accumulate, the weather service says. Winds could gust up to 35 mph on the mountain.

Travel could become hazardous as road conditions deteriorate.

Meanwhile, Casper itself will likely see three to six inches of new snow, according to the latest NWS forecast. The city remained under a winter weather advisory as of Wednesday morning.
