I'm not into rappelling, however I do enjoy creeping up in a cave every now and then. The formations, the coolness and uncertainty make cave exploring all the more exhilarating.

In searching, I did find a couple that sparked the imagination. Shoshone Cavern, in Cody seemed to offer promise, until I found out it's not open to the public. It's managed by the BLM. Horsethief Cave, in Lovell is another intriguing opportunity to explore Wyoming's underworld. Twelve miles of subterranean adventure await, with the stipulation to bring your own light. Okie Dokie.

Another possibility is Tongue River Cave. 1.23 miles of passages, 106 feet deep and a dry river bed that intersects a flowing river. Cool!

The fact there could be animal inhabitants makes me a little apprehensive. I've never been to the Bighorn National Forest, (that I know of) but there could be a trip coming soon.
