UW’s Justin James Receives MW Player of the Week Honors
Wyoming junior guard Justin James earned Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career Monday.
James averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11 rebounds in helping the Cowboys to a pair of wins last week. UW beat Eastern Washington Dec. 12, 93-88 in overtime, and Texas Southern Dec. 16, 72-66.
For the week James shot 50 percent from the field, going 14-28, and went 11-14 (79%) from the free throw line. He has recorded double-doubles in four of his last five games and has scored 20 or more points in each contest.
James added 2.5 assists per game in the two and helped Wyoming extend its home winning streak versus non-conference opponents to 20 games. UW has also won 13 straight overall at the Arena-Auditorium.
The Cowboys return to action Tuesday against Northern Colorado. It’s Wyoming’s final non-conference game. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
KOWB's David Settle even asked James about his recent double-double activity and focus on the defensive end.
