Obviously having a band as big as Foo Fighters cancel out on a pair of sold out shows is never ideal, but for fans in the vicinity of London's Wembley Stadium, they got the next best thing Friday night (June 19). Tribute band UK Foo Fighters took the stage at Crystal Wembley, a club right across the street from the Wembley Stadium venue, for a night of rocking for a good cause.

The band pulled together a last-minute charity concert and gave those who were looking for a Foo Fighters fix after missing out on the two canceled performances a pretty raucous night. Check out fan-shot footage of the group playing "My Hero" above.

Fans may remember that UK Foo Fighters got the ultimate stamp of approval last fall when Dave Grohl invited the band's singer, Jay Apperley, to perform with them at a surprise club show in Brighton, England. Grohl had some fun with it, introducing the vocalist by stating, "Ladies and gentlemen … would you please welcome … me!" as Apperley then belted out "White Limo" with the real deal Foos.

Foo Fighters were forced to cancel the remainder of their European trek when Dave Grohl took a tumble off the stage in Gothenburg, Sweden and broke his leg. Though the vocalist bravely returned to finish out the show, the next two gigs were canceled while his injuries were assessed. Not long after, Grohl had surgery and was ordered by doctors to call off the remainder of the trek.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart," Grohl said to fans in an open letter. "And I will do everything I can to come back and give you a night to remember for the rest of your lives AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Until then…my sincerest apologies."

At present, the band is expected to make the upcoming Fourth of July North American tour start in Washington, D.C.
