It's that time of the year again. The time when we want to make our way around Wyoming's beauty and wonder is coming to a close. At least in some parts. Really, very few parts. Specifically in the Snowy Range.

WYDOT announced yesterday that the Snowy Range Scenic Byway will be closed for the season. You can see the full report from Visit Laramie below.

It's a bummer that it's closed, but I do love getting to see photos of the Snowy Range with full snowcaps. It's also nice that they have snow in the area so we don't have to worry about any rogue fires that could potentially come through. That should at least end fire season.

I know Wyoming has so many beautiful places, but I'll always have a soft spot for Snowy Range. It's really underrated how beautiful it is. Maybe we just keep it that way so we don't have tons of tourists, though, every time I'm in the area, there are different licensee plates from different places parked next to me. So, who knows? Maybe it's just an unspoken gem that people love.

The area is going to be weighted down with snow for the next six months or so. They usually don't fully reopen the way until Memorial Day, so we have a bit of a wait before we can make the trip through Snowy Range.

What is your favorite part of Snowy Range? Mine is how you go uphill and every turn has something more beautiful than the last. The gift that keeps on giving.
