The ‘Torrington Flash’ Jason McManamen Rides Off Into the Sunset

Tomorrow, Jason McManamen will play his final game in the state of Wyoming.

The Torrington native recently set a new UW record for the most career three-point field goals and will rank among the best homegrown products to ever wear the brown and gold.

McManamen averaged double digits during his junior and senior seasons and is 24 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

Even as an underclassmen, he wasn't afraid to take big shots.

As a sophomore, the former Wyoming High School Player of the Year was a sparingly used reserve until he hit a game winning three-pointer to beat arch rival Colorado State in the Border War.

Later that season, his game winning three-pointer against Boise State in the Mountain West Tournament Semifinals helped propel the Pokes to their first conference title in over a decade.

Off the court, McManamen has been even better. After earning a bachelor's in Management in 2016, the graduate student is now finishing up another degree in Marketing.

With a 3.06 grade point average, he is a member of the Mountain West Academic All-Conference Team and was recently nominated for the nationwide Senior CLASS Award.

Whatever his future holds, whether it's a professional career overseas or an opportunity to use his two college degrees, McManamen has proudly represented his home state.

Not bad for a slow, small-town kid that his teammates jokingly nicknamed the "Torrington Flash".
